Default EGR valve question:

I went to the local autoparts stores to get an EGR valve and they no longer sold the valves by themselves. Instead, they only sold an $80 part that includes the valve housed inside of it. Is that right? Maybe it's a fix of some sort? The last time I got one it for my Jeep, about 4 years ago, it was just the valve and it was under $10.

What they sell is the valve body, (the part that actually bolts to the engine), and the solenoid, (the cylindrical part).
It has always been one assembly.

Are you saying you were able to purchase only a part of the assembly?

Are you thinking of the PCV? that usually runs ten bucks or so.

Just bought a new PCV Valve for my '07 a few weeks ago and it was just the part for a few bucks. Don't remember exactly, but sure not eighty!

EDIT: Bought it at O'Reilly's.
