I realize WARN is the preferred option by most. Looked into getting my hands on a used WARN M12 but no luck so far.
Read a few threads mentioning ENGO having a pretty good track record for the price. Any experience/suggestions??

 

I liked mine until I didn't. The control box warped in the sun and let rain water in and corroded the components. Replaced it with a Warn.

 

Mine has run perfectly for the 5 or so years I've had it. My control box has been exposed to the sun, but has not warped, at all. It is a good, solid winch.

 

We have a 9500 pound Engo with synthetic line for 5 and a half years in the SoCal desert sun and NO problems.

 

We've been running the 10K Synthetic for about four years now. Love it. There is a vendor here on the forum offering members a great price on Engo winches and accessories. Search around and you'll find the thread. I just can't remember their name at the moment.

 

I have the 9000. The wire boots get dried out and gummy. However, I called them and they sent a new set The control box look weathered as well. Other than that I have been happy.

Three years since I installed my Engo E9000S (synthetic), luckily only had to use it for practice. I keep the neoprene cover on it religiously and the cover has kept the control box in good shape.
