Default Pinions and Rings

Hi guys:
What pinions and rings should I need for an automatic Sahara, Dana 30 in front, with 37s tires? 4.88 would be fine? Maybe 5.13? Or 5.13 would be too weak and maybe crush?

Your daily driver? What's your terrain like there in Spain? I have 5.13s and 37s on my 3.6L auto. If you don't do much long distance driving and are in a hilly terrain, 5.13s might be suitable, but the teeth are getting smaller on that D30 pinion. 4.88s is probably gonna be better for an all around daily driver. Just my opinion.

I wouldn't recommend anything lower than a 4.88 in a D30

Hi again. I've got the chance now to get a complete Dana 44 front axle from a friend. So, in this case, with both axles Dana 44, and for 37s, what would be the best pinions and rings, 4.88 or 5.10?

Anyways, the axle has already 4.11. Would it be enough for 37s, so I would just change just the rear axle with another 4.11, or 4.11 is not enough for 37s anyways?

I drove for about a year on 4.10s and 37s. You can do it, but it will wear you down over time. You get used to the sluggishness around town.....what bothered me was mainly highway driving. You pretty much lose 5th gear in an auto, which puts in your 4th ..... and downshifting to 3rd to get the guts to pass someone or if a stiff headwind hits you. 4.88s would get you to a little bit more grunt than what it had stock, and 5.13s is gonna lean a bit aggressive for a DD, but still fine if you don't mind higher revving rpm's on the interstate.

Make sure you have a programmer on hand for when you swap axles. You'll need to tell the computer what the new gearing is.
