Default Dealer offering to switch hard to soft top, should I?

I would be getting this rig for over $2000 off MSRP. A little below invoice. They would have to drive it about 50 miles which I don't like. But is there anything to be concerned about putting a soft top on a rig that has a hard top? Or would it benefit?

no worries, softtops are coo and you can get a HT for about $1500 if you shop.

Would I benefit with the wiring already being there? I just want to make sure there wasn't something different with the single hard tops being different for some reason. I don't want to have issues with my soft top or something not be right.

I would be getting a rig over $27000 for just under $25000. They want me to commit tonight (end of month). Trust me, I'm not one to be pushed around but I really like the parts guy there. He knows his stuff. I would like him to do my lift and all that. I just don't like they're getting it from another dealer. That has always been a big issue to me.

Having the hardtop as standard equipt gives you the heavy duty alternator and all the wiring back there for the defroster and wiper. Saves you some trouble if you decide to add one down the road.

I don't know how much wheelin you do around trees but the soft top can and does catch limbs to make a nice sunroof. If your top is down or off of course this means nothing. We had two soft tops get damaged this weekend. Both is really nice for different reasons. The new hardtops come off in the garage in about 30 min. tops by yourself. They are much smaller (2dr) because of the "freedom panels. I like my hardtop and plan on a bikini top for the summer.

This would be a 4d. What if it starts raining? You can't carry all your hard top parts everywhere. Wouldn't that be a pain?

A HD alternator for just having the hardtop? Hmm...and why is that? The defrost isnt that much of a draw I dont think and I have never heard of that before....
I could be wrong though....where did you hear that?

I paid $24097 for my JK in september 07 my MSRP was $26,885 and didn't have to give back anything. I would shop around more but if its what you want then do it.

Is the dealer giving you a discount for the soft top? The hard top is about 690 more then a soft top as I'm sure it shows on the sticker.

I believe all models come with the same alternator, 160amp
