Favorite tailgate plate (spare delete) vent cover?
What is your favorite or preferred tailgate plate (spare tire delete) vent cover?
Prefer something that will replace the factory louvered vent and use the factory spare tire bracket bolt holes.
Doesn't need to be one for a 3rd brake light, license plate or other accessories. I am installing a bumper mount tire carrier and need to cover the old spare tire location and, like said, prefer to replace the factory vent.
I see that the JKS includes button head bolts and plugs for the tire bumpers and wire harness which is nice. I think one of the Poison Spider versions includes the plugs.

They're all the same. Buy whatever is cheapest. I have the JKS one right now and it's nice, but it's no different from the Poison Spyder one I had back in the day when I ran no spare (sold the PS tramp stamp, that's the only reason I bought 2). The PS was a textured powder coat, the JKS one I have now is a semi-flat black that matches the powder coat on my corners, and paint on my bumpers/sliders.
Personally, if you're going to cover it up with a bumper mount tire carrier, I'd just leave the factory vent and not even put anything there. You're rarely going to see it, and spending $40-$50 hardly worth it IMO. If you do remove the factory vent, I'd probably get a piece that has louvers rather than just slits cut in flatstock as it would probably help keep water out a bit better.
LOL, never miss the opportunity for a jab.

The one from Metalcloak looks pretty good. It has the louvered openings for the vent and then covers that with another plate. Just not sure about having their bid "M" logo cut out in the middle. However, my name is Matt so I guess that would work. LOL
Here's the one I installed. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XW4LGXD/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1Have been running it for about a year now.OneOne complaint is the wires are a little thin but they do the job. Have been running it for about a year now.
