Ok, I have been shopping for some rock rails but I cant really find enough info in the less expensive ones. Anyone who can give a little info would be great.

Have a metalshop custom fab you up one. Thats what I would do. Then get it powerdercoated or line-x'd.

stay away from a to z if you need them fast. i live near him, and he is in our jeep club and i see him every month and he has promised me a set of 4 dr rails for over a month. i spent the $300 on a new welder and will be building my own.

 

Im leaning toward something that doesnt hang down too much. Like the olympic reverse bars.

 

I bit the bullet and ordered the shockworks rails a few weeks ago. From what i hear you have to be a master at being patient if you order anything from shockworks...but the end result is worth it.

Beware of the JCW those are made in china and require drilling. The Smittybilt ones that are close in price from 4wd do not require drilling. I like the look of the RCX...where did you find those for sale. I googled them and didn't get anywhere

 

i was in the same boat as you. looking for something that would give good protection with high ground clearance. i ordered the teraflex rocksliders from 4wd...they look like the best ones for their money (under $400 shipped) and just my luck they are on back order and have been for months. we'll see how long it takes to get them.

 

I'll gladly give the loss in clearance to stay out of the body shop....

 

I like the PJ but I don't want to drill the body. I'm looking for something to cover the void on the side, a step for the wife, protection from the general public that don't give a sh_t about your jeep and don't cost an arm and a leg.
