Sounds like you could have a drive shaft going out. Is it grinding or clicking? If you have stock drive shafts then that is a possible culprit. Check Adams Driveshafts or Northridge4x4, Forum Sponsors, for replacements.

A 5" lift and 38's is not your standard lift. 3.5" and 37s is quite a bit of work. You'll need to get a decent handle on what you're working with to start. Will asks about your driveshaft up front. If that is the factory shaft, then 5" would be terribly extreme angle for the factory CV joint at the TC side. I have to think that given it's a 2007, and that it's got a 5" lift, surely that is now an aftermarket DC drive shaft. Really need a video of the sound if possible. When centering joints on a DC driveshaft go out usually you'll get more of a squeak than a grind, and when CV joints like on factory go out, you get a clicking. The fact that it's a grind is kind of concerning.

Regardless of this issue, you should take some time and try to identify what is actually installed on this jeep. Figure out at least what has been replaced in regards to steering and suspension components. Pay specific attention to caster correction (adjustable control arms, control arm brackets, fixed length aftermarket arms??). These details will help folks trying to help you. Fill them in to your profile for future reference. If you're having issues identifying things or don't know what to look for, take some pictures and start a new thread asking for some identification help.

That could play out to be nice, or frustrating. If they can provide a lot of good background information will be good, but if you start to realize they pawned off some jeep that had known issues and you're the new owner......would rather not know.

Since you're kinda jumping in, my favorite little image....you're on the "modified" path with that set up -

Good group of folks and information here, plenty of support should you need it along the way.
