Default To those who have snorkels

For those of you that have snorkels, what do you do about the radio antenna? Do you move it somewhere else or just live on without the antenna? Does the hole for the snorkel go through the antenna hole after you widen it up a bit or do I need to cut a whole new hole? BTW I’m looking at the River Raider if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance. - KY

I love my snorkel. And it DOES cause the antenna to be removed. It's not a big deal, you can re-route it if you wish. I have no antenna attached currently but I still get great reception. So to me it's a non-issue, and I have Sat Radio. But the FM radio still comes in clear!

And yes, you will have to cut a hole in the Jeep. I had a local 4x4 shop do it for me for the price of $150 for the entire install, reasonable price. I was too wary of attempting to cut the hole in my "brand new" Jeep.

And some show-off pics:

I can't praise it enough. LOVE the snorkel!

The shop that installed mine put it under the hood along the top of the fender, works good. The hole is cut in a different location, the antenna hole is covered with a matching colored piece of metal, that is included in the kit "RR". I met Kenny "RR" in person, great guy, great product.

there is a write up on here to put a amplified antenna in, it plugs into back of radio and you put it inside jeep, thats what I am going to do, right now I have no antenna since jan, I never listen to fm anyway. here is the link

and there are some pics of my install for the RR snorkel, you take the antenna off and that hole gets covered with a round plate that comes with kit.

as far as the breather tubes the front is at the top of drivers side shock tower, the rear comes up to the top of the passenger side frame, its actually lower then the front, I will be extending them, front to top of firewall and the rear behind the tail light

Yes, the AEV snorkel does has a notch for the stock antenna.

I did the amplified antenna mod because I like the look without the antenna:

I have the River Raider and like it a lot. I got an amplified antenna and stuck it to the front windshield. I am going to be moving my breather lines north to protect everything. Here is a pic of mine.
