Default Rubicon Express oil skid plate and Fumoto Valve

Anyone have this setup? Wondering if the Rubicon Express skid provides enough clearance for the fumoto valve.

I had the Fumoto on my benchmark designs oil pan and had to clearance the pan a little bit. It all worked great until the day I broke the nipple off of the valve. I went on ahead and pulled it after that adventure. The flow rate is too slow for me and while it works, it's not worth the hassle IMO. It still sits in my box in case I get to feeling brave again. I could have lost all of my oil on one rock.

That RE oil pan skid looks like it would leave the valve hanging out in the open.. Where you definitely don't want it. I use a Rock Hard skid which covers the oil pan and mounts at the crossmember for full coverage. You definitely do not want that valve poking out unprotected.

Interesting take. I LOVE that drain valve. Cleanest and quickest oil changes ever. A full coverage skid is a must though.

Agree. I have a Fumoto and love it. Sure, it takes a little longer to drain, but is 100% mess-free (have the RH skid as well). The only thing that I would change is I bought a valve with the straight nipple, and clearance is a bit tighter than I prefer. I have maybe a good fingers width between the skid and valve. I'd much rather have 90* angled nipple.
