Default 07 JK Sahara front end clicking

When I simply wiggle the steering wheel I get a feeling of looseness. Like the steering wheel isn't completely tight. Not sure if that's the correct wording. There's a bit of a click I guess. Does this sound like an easy fix?
Doesn't appear to affect anything it's just a bit irritating and a little concerning.
Any input would be appreciated.

Classic sign of needs new balljoints. I just did mine last week. Well I had them done. Expect about 900ish parts and labor. Good news is your tires wont wear out nearly as fast when balljoints are in good shape.

Thank you. I did have new ball joints installed. I wonder what else it could be.

Intermittent steering shaft. $150 and 2 bolts. Rock auto sells it. Put your hand on it and have someone move the steering wheel back and fourth and you should be able to feel it. It's worth the $$. I hated that also.

$900 for parts and labor? I hope you put Rare Parts in for that price! Labor should be ~$250. Also, I wouldn't say that bad ball joints make any clicking sound turning the wheel back and forth. You're going to feel bad ball joints on the road more than hear them.

As Eharris suggests, that intermediate shaft is a common issue. Without fender liners, that sucker is super easy to access. With fender liners a bit more of a pain, but you should at least be able to look down at it from the top and determine it to be the noise or not as someone turns the wheel.
