Default Help me figure out my lift height

Just purchased my first Jeep, a 2012 JK and looking to put on new 285/75R17 BFG KO2’s, but was worried they would rub. The current wheels are 255/75R17 and I think the wheels are the Ultra Performance Bolts. Based on the way it all looks visually, it seems like there’s a ton of room.

I took some measurements and wanted to see if you guys could help confirm the lift off of stock and whether or not the KO2s would a) fit without rubbing on or off trail and b) that they would look good.

Appreciate the help!

You're not measuring springs at all, you're measuring the distance between those specific points on the axles.

Thanks for the help! Do you think the 285/75R17 BFG KO2’s will fit without any rubbing? Also, I believe these are my rims: https://www.ultrawheel.com/wheel/150...ish=376&lugs=5

Plugging the numbers into a generic metric/standard conversion calculator:
285/75R17 = 33.8
255/75R17 = 32.1"
So roughly a 1.7" height/diameter increase. Divide that by 2, and you get a tire sticking 0.85" further up toward the fender flares. Stick a ruler/tape measure on the tire tread and see what you think with an actual visual representation, but a 0.85" difference is pretty minor given your current lift height. Should have gone to 35's ...

And throwing some numbers at the rims:
Assuming that link is correct, their 5x5 rims are 8" width with an offset of 10. This equals a 4.96(ish?) backspace, with stock backspace being about 6.25". So, 6.25-4.96= 1.29, meaning the tires are sitting almost 1.3" further out than they were stock. Perfectly fine for 33's, many people run 35's with that backspace.

This is great info, thanks so much. I’m just getting to know the Jeep, but need to make a quick move on the tires, so thank you. And since my current tires are fairly bald, it’ll be difficult to get a visual on what a 1.7” increase will look like. Based on my set up, what would you recommend?
