Stock tie rod end “Seized” ????
had the Jeep in the shop yesterday and the boys were unable to get the tie rod end to break loss. It is rusted so bad, they used everything in their shop and couldn’t get it to move. Even a torch (I guess)
They were unable to get much further with aligning as a result.
They said I should just get a replacement.
I am planning on selling this thing by early summer. It’s an 07’ JKU Sahara with a rough country budget boost kit. As I mentioned in other threads, I recently fixed the death wobble.
it has a Fox ATS Steering Stabilizer and RE adjustable track bar.
check out the pics.
It's pretty common for those fine threads to get rusted and then strip so the tie-rod is no longer adjustable. Since you're selling it, you have a few options.
1. Your "toe" does not seem to be too far out of wack. Are you noticing it pulling to one side or the other? If not, you could just leave it as is and let the next owner decide what they want to do with it. The Toe is the only thing which can be adjusted by an alignment shop on a JK with a standard alignment.
2. Replace it with a take-off factory tie-rod. Look on Craig's list or Facebook market place. There's plenty of factory take-offs with hardly any miles, since this is a common upgrade item.
3. Go purchase a lower cost HD Tie-rod and replace it. There are now nice aluminum tie-rods with 1-Ton Tres for $200 and there is the Ruff Stuff Tie-rod with 1-Ton Tres for less than $200. I would go this route over replacing with a new factory tie-rod which is in a similar price range.

if I can’t find a take off somewhere close. I live in a smaller town in Southern Oregon. So it’s often difficult finding things around here.
My tie-rod did the similar thing as yours. The Crown should do the job since you're getting rid of it. I purchased the Ruffstuff HD tie-rod, because they often send out discount codes if you're on the email distribution. I just checked and it looks like I don't have anything current, maybe someone else does? I think it cost me like $150 and it was kind of a no brainer decision of me either paying $110-$160 for an OEM equivalent replacement or just get the RuffStuff HD tie-rod for $150.
The piece you're looking at ordering is the long side meaning you'll have to salvage the short side and (I believe) the plastic sleeve. Can you find a driveworks (or cheap-o house brand) at the local auto parts store?
