Default 2" Lift for 2016 JKU

I am thinking about installing the Rancho 2" Sport Suspension System as I only want about a 2" lift to mount 33" tires. Has anyone used this lift and what are the pros and cons of it? Are there any suggestions on other lifts that are better than this system? The lift contains progressive or variable rate springs, front and rear Rancho RS9000XL shocks and front and rear bump stops. Should I go with the progressive or variable rate springs? There is also an option on either the Rancho RS5000X shocks or the adjustable RS9000XL shocks.

Its one of the cheap lifts out there. Several are better but cost more but typically are a more complete kit. I would get the adjustable shocks option. You would also want some longer rear sway bar links, (move the factory rear to the front) a 2" raised rear axle track bar mount, and a front adjustable track bar. You may also want some caster correction which you could doe with some control arm drop brackets or some adjustable upper control arms. I would also not bother with 33" tires and move right to 35's as you gain almost nothing with 33's and with a 2" lift you have plenty of room for 35's. I would also verify that you have 3.73 gears in the axles. Good luck.

You might want to read the link in my signature as well on people new to jeeps and lifting.

what is your intended usage? occasional dirt road? Moab and the rubicon trail type stuff? fast two lane backroads? A trip to the mall?

If you see yourself upgrading down the road get a 3" system or the like.
PRO's great system that will get you a lot of places
CON's if you get the "bug" not much in the system can be reused if you go "bigger"
Some use our geo correction bracket with this set up too.

Rancho seems to make a 2 spring and a 4 spring 2in lift. I would suggest going with the 4 spring version.

Cool

2 spring (front coils) system/option should not (really) be in the market any longer.
Been about 4 or so years since we had that system.

I do some mild off roading at Rausch Creek in PA, mainly green trails but some medium blue trails. On the east coast so it may be a while before I get to Moab!

Thanks, not sure I will go much taller than this. Getting old and it isn't easy getting in and out now!

Why not just throw some spacer pucks on top of current springs to guarantee you won't get more than 2" of actual net lift? When you go swapping springs, there's no real guarantee as to where you'll end up. Still need to address the same other small issues like shocks and brackets here or there.

I have over 70,000 miles on springs, thinking maybe new springs might be a benefit.
