Default Winch solenoid placement

I just install my winch and due to the bumper I currently have the solenoid wouldn’t fit on the winch and give me the ability to plug in the controller. I put it behind the grill where I can get to it to plug in. My question is does that block too much of the radiator? Also I shouldn’t worry about heat damage or anything right? Any tips I do appreciate.

I wouldn't think a small solenoid box would block much of the radiator but pictures always help. In regards to getting access to your plug, another option could be to relocate just the plug. I had my plug cover dry rot from the sun (yes, should have been using a winch cover) and upon removal of the plug you can see that it could easily be relocated about anywhere, it's only 3 wires and a 3/4" (ish) hole.

That’s a great idea! Didn’t even think about that but I did notice it’s not much to undo the switch. Thanks!
