Teraflex 2.5" Falken 3 issues - need help
Hey everyone,
New to this forum. I had a 2.5" Teraflex 2.5" suspension with Falken 3 adjustable shocks and 35's installed in my jku just 2 months ago in Southern Florida. Were currently trying to repatriate to Canada, cruising up I 95, and are experiencing some serious wheel run in our back passenger fender. Never had this issue before, but this first major trip with a large load on the roof, and rear. Whole jeep seems to be riding up hill. The suspension is set to stiff, but doesn't seem to make a difference. I climbed under and took a look at the rear shocks, and they are labelled for a 3-4.5" lift. It was a very reputable installer that did the work in south florida, but wondering they installed the wrong shocks? Any help would be awesome, as were racing to get to the border, and have now stopped twice to ditch some weight. Definately dont want to lose a tire or cause any more damage to the fender.
Thanks everyone in advance...

Short term there is not really much you can do unless shed a bunch of weight, or you find an off-road shop/store that can get you longer bump stop extensions and or install them for you.
Long term I would say you should get the longer bump stops, and start looking into a different brand of springs.
Using shocks for taller lifts is standard practice on Jeeps, because Jeep suspensions flex and droop unlike trucks that are fairly static height all the time.
One-way Uhaul trailer? Move all the weight off the jeep, and you're good to keep going. Or, find a local shop and ask about airbags or swapping rear coils.
Are the shocks bottoming out? Or are the bumpstops contacting and doing their job? (or neither, the tires are hitting the fenders before shock/bumpstop contact?) Hopefully the current bumpstops are taking the impact and not the shocks. (as far as adding taller bumpstops goes, all that means is that you will have a very harsh ride since they will constantly be contacting under all that weight. You might look at other options before just adding a taller set of these.)
Teraflex 2.5" ~~ rear shocks are labelled for a 3-4.5" lift.
