Default DIY wireless cell phone charger

Had nothing better to do so I decided to make a wireless cell phone charger out of things I had laying around the house. I didn’t take pics while building as this was an afterthought. First step is to carefully use a utility knife to separate the plastic housing of a usb car charger. You will use this once you have soldered connections to the usb board. Desolder the springs and side tabs. Solder on two ground wires to the where the side tabs were, next is to solder a power wire on to where the spring was. Grab the plastic housing and run the two negative wires back through the sides of the plastic housing and run the positive wire through the end where the spring was. Sorry I soldered this broken one up and don’t have pics of the one installed.

Next up is dismantling the dash and pulling accessory power and ground from the cig outlet. I forget which wire it is but a quick search will find it. Pretty much the rest is just running wire up through the dash. I did put an inline fuse between the cig and the usb.

I took apart a wireless usb charger to get the guts of it out. I purchased a 7 dollar charger from amazon that could charge up through 5mm thickness and can sense foreign objects. Then I simply chose a location and hot glued it into place.
