Default Sway Bar JKU

I have read through a ton of forums about both of these questions but haven't found much useful to JKU's. I have 2 questions that I am looking for opinions on. I have a 2012 JKUR, 3.5" RockKrawler lift on 35's. I am happy with the performance of the Jeep, it is a daily driver and I mostly rock crawl or run dirt roads with it. The factory e-disco sway bar stopped working years ago and I added JKS quick discos. I have been happy with them also. I recently broke them so before replacing them I wanted to see some opinions here.

1. Is a Currie Anti Rock, or other brand of this style worth purchasing? For TJs it seems like a resounding yes, for JK's the reviews seem very mixed.

2. With the factory sway bar, how is everyone securing it while wheeling? I figured out the hard way that it needs to be level and not pushed up or you end up with popped tires. Recently I have been wearing through the bungees I use to secure it, and on one trip the sway bar flipped straight down and popped my bead. I am just curious if there is a better way to do this.

Thanks for any advice or comments. Also, at the moment I plan to replace the JKS discos.

I have had JKS quick disconnects for 7 years now and they've been flawless. My jeep is a '13, and since day 1 the sway bar has never flopped down when disconnected, though it is the basic sway bar. I have seen a few different things to stop sway bars from flopping down, one of the most interesting ideas I recall is simply welding a nut to the frame, then when disconnected, you screw a long bolt into the nut and that is what the sway bar hits when trying to flop down. I like to remove my links completely which is why that idea stuck in my head. Seems a lot of others like to weld in another pin that the bottom of the link flips up and secures to when not connected to the axle.

How did you break the link?

I'm one that put the nut on the frame and then just screw the bolt into it when you remove the links. It works well and is incredibly quick. I've not had a chance to weld one on my girlfriend's 2016 and it's a pain tying the bar up, out of the way. You'll want to get the nut at the bottom edge of the frame so the bar sits fairly level. Higher up (like the TJ's) and you run the risk of driving the pin through your sidewall. I can get a picture when I get home if you'd like.

Karl, did you buy change weld a 2nd nut somewhere out of the way to screw the bolt in to for easy storage and to have right there when not needing to use it? I might have to do this myself now that I have a welder.

Nope, I keep the bolt in the door. I know you take the doors off more than I do so maybe you'd be better served with putting it in the glove box? I actually keep 2 in the jeep because I have a habit of misplacing them when I clean the vehicle out....usually after wheeling and then it isn't there when I go again.

Swaylock is IMO best option as its 2 bars, one just for off road.
Much better offroad andas good or better on road.

I've had one on 2 JK's and a LJ.

I went the cheaper route, Rough Country quick dis-connect sway bars. $79.00 they work really well and have been on the Jeep for 8 months now without issue. Requires mounting a provided sway bar post to store the sway bar when dis-connected. Also they are adjustable for proper install.

I plan on going with an Anti-Rock at some point once I get other upgrades completed.

I was running a dirt road with small whoops at 60-70 MPH. Misjudged a couple of the dips and hit kind of hard a few times. I didnt notice they were broke until I stopped to air up.

I installed this https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and have been very satisfied. Only took about an hour.
