JK Show & TellWhether they're just poser shots in your driveway or hardcore action shots on the trail, if you've got photos or videos of your Jeep JK Wrangler (or any JK for that matter that you think is worth showing off, inside or out), we want to see them so please post them here! Likewise, if you are wanting to see a photo of something specific like an aftermarket JK part or poser shot with a specific setup, this is the place to ask for it.
Hey all, long time TJ owner here. Recently sold my very built TJ and got out of wheeling. Decided I couldn't completely live life without a Jeep so I snagged this 17 Willy's edition.
I bought this one to solely be a country cruiser, creek splasher, etc.
So far I swapped in the 285/70 BFG AT's, ordered a nice audio upgrade and a bestop retractable sunscreen. Like I said it won't be wheeled but I'm still into upgrading anything and everything to make it pretty sweet. What do you say? Any suggestions on a daily driver JK? Thanks!
There are tons of little things you can do to make it your own. Luckily the JK platform handles bigger tires and a little lift better than the TJ (been there too). I've put tons of things on mine and pulled plenty back off. It's about enjoying the daily ride. Heated seats were nice for winter and doors off nights.
To me, best mods aren't actually on the jeep itself, but are whatever helps you get the top and doors off in a quick and safe manner so that you can actually enjoy these things as intended. Right behind that would be sunscreen and a lockbox if necessary so you can enjoy having the top and doors off. I hate the carpet that comes in these things as it's a pita to clean. Bedrug is a really nice and reasonable upgrade if you tend to have pets or the jeeps sees a lot of sandy, dusty, dirty areas. Easy to clean, mold resistant, and still has a bit of refinement to it in regard to looks. I know those aren't the standard "mods" but a different take for today's opinion.
New tires on stock wheels, I presume? If you don't wish to replace the wheels, then a set of wheel spacers will improve the stance without going to that ugly bro-truck look. Here's (on left) my friend's 2012 JK at Toroweap, Grand Canyon National Park with OEM wheels but 33" Duratracs and I'm pretty sure he had installed the wheels spacers by then. And I know he had a 2.5" TF coil lift ...
Mark, judging by my rig with 33s on stockers without spacers, the spacers ARE installed on the one next to you. I agree on the bro dozer look. I can't stand that entire thing. fab fours stuff etc....ewwww. stockish mods are best. Keep your jeep like a jeep! mine will be ready for extended travel soon!
