Default JL Rubicon HD Brakes on a JK???

I've searched all over the place and can't seem to find anyone who has done it or tried it. Some say it should work, some say probably not...

I saw the TeraFlex BBK upgrade can be done to JK or JL using same kit so it gives me some hope, but would like to get someones actual experience first if possible.

Anyone tried this yet?

May I ask why you're looking to do this vs just upgrading to the Teraflex BBK or Dynatrac big brakes?

There is a thread on a different forum discussing this...if you google "jl brakes on jk". Pounding a square peg in a round hole if you ask me. Crown BBK (RT Offroad) is another option for 13" rotors and dual piston calipers. I believe the caliper mounting brackets aren't going to line up from those JL brakes, but not 100% certain.

Mainly because I found a complete set F/R of low mile take offs locally for 400. Has calipers, rotors, pads, etc...

I will also say there's probably a reason there's not all kinds of thread and youtube videos for "hey, I just swapped JL brakes to my JK!" and it's hard to find info. 2.5 years into the JLs now....

Not trying to be smart ass or anything, just saying people are all over these things.....similar to swapping the JL hood latches over which has worked.

I get it, im just surprised I've never seen anyone give a definitive yes or no either way. Was kinda hoping it's just bc they're good brakes and most people aren't swapping them out just yet, or just havent ended up in a JK owners hands yet... Probably wishful thinking.

Bringing up a necro here- apparently you can put JL/ JT brakes on the JK but it has to be the HD brakes aka the JT ones. I need more rear bite and I'm looking around at something along those lines or the Teraflex/ G2 route. Dynatrac doesn't fit the budget and simply using Z36 pads helps, but I want more.

How much bigger are the JT brakes? You use the calipers as well? Are the calipers larger? I’m really curious how they compare to the Dynatrac kits. I have Dynatrac rear mainly because I didn’t want stock size and they were the only ones that makes a larger rear brake without an insanely expensive kit with a big name painted on the calipers.

Correct- JT brakes are bigger and you use the caliper as well as the brackets. Graphic below that I pulled from another site as my own point of reference. I'm also not looking for crazy expensive badging. The graphic doesn't say, but I'd assume the top half is the fronts and the bottom is the rears.

I'm also curious to know if anyone knows if you have to run the J8 booster if you convert to the JL Rubicon setup?
