Default 4.10 to 4.56 gearings

Hello I have 4.10 gearing and the ring should be 41 teeth and pinon 10 = 4.10 and 4.56 41 teeth ring and pinon 9 teeth so if I change only my 10 teeth pinion to 9 I should have 4.56 or I should replace the ring too anyone done it before?

Ring and pinion gears are matched sets. You can not change just the pinion.

Yep, different angles, different cuts on the gears, sounds like it would work just from the numbers, but there is a lot more to it.
Ring and pinion come in a matched set
