Talking Sahara rubicon!?

Can someone be a pal and help me out with my vin? I have a 2013 4dr Jeep Sahara vin 1C4BJWEG0DL590798, I am getting all sorts of excited since the decoder on position 6 states that I have a rubicon?? I am planning in re-gearing and allready ordered my 44 rear and 30 front..... I have allready gone under and did not see the badge of the gears stating the gear.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you don't have a rubicon. They don't have D30s up front. Also, dead giveaway would be having a couple locker buttons to the left to the steering wheel under the air vent.

Cut to the chase- go look at your front axle- does the shape of the housing look exactly like the rear? It's not uncommon to swap out parts when you're trading in. A couple buttons on the dash don't mean much. You can also go look at your front sway bar and try to trace it from one link over to the next. Is there still a big clunky motor in the middle or is it just a bar all the way across??

If you have those buttons there, is there a reason you think you have a Sahara? Have you looked at a D30 front diff vs. a D44 to verify what you have as far as axle?

The D30 is a bit more round like this -

D44 is going to be a bit more extended on top and bottom like this -

(just pics off the internet). Keep in mind that axles under jeeps are swapped in and out regularly. Look at the sway bar too. is it a solid bar running under the front frame, or does it have a lot going on between the frame rails? A rubi sway bar has electronic disconnect.

LOL, you can have a lot of fun on those "shotty" axles. Don't get too down. You'd be surprised how capable even the cheapest, no-option jeep with bald tires is off the pavement. The only problem with a D30 is when your use is more than it is able to support and putting money into it is better spent on a different axle.
