I had a 3.5" lift on my 2 door Rubicon but when one side started to sag I decided to replace coil springs and shocks. I went with the Evo 3" springs and Fox 2.5" reservoir shocks. I figured I'd end up somewhere around the ride height I had before but after 700 miles (100 off road) it's settled in so far at 4.75" lift. It might settle more but I don't think it's going to drop another 1.25". The boxes clearly said Evo 3" springs on them when they arrived. I had to make major changes to front and rear track bars and drag link. I probably need to adjust the control arms also. I'm worried about driveline angles at this lift height. I'd really rather drop this down to 2.5 - 3". I have 35" tires and plan to go to 37" next. Anyone have any recommendations on true 2.5" springs for a 2 door? Before and after pictured below. Left is before.
Yes - I would be worried about driveshaft angles. Sounds like you got the rest figured out. Wonder if the springs can be retreated and reset in height? Don't know that but at the least, I would go back to manufacturer. My 2.5" MC kit gave me about 3" of lift which was ok with me. I will replace the tires later with 35's that's it! You definitely need the front control arms (get away with top only) as adjustable at 3" of lift. Need arms at both ends at 4.75"

Gas charged shocks can raise the amount of lift you normally would have vs an emulsion shock. What did you replace the shocks with? Why did you replace the shocks?

I replaced Bilstein 5100 shocks. I actually did the springs a couple weeks before installing the Fox shocks. It seemed taller on the Bilsteins as well. Even though the ride height isn't where I want it, the on and off road ride is improved.
I think, but am not certain, that the Evo's are not unique between 2 and 4 door. Whatever the rated lift is for the 4dr, you'll see 1"+ more on a 2dr. You'll also see more than the rated lift unless you're heavy with metal bumpers, armor, gear. I have experienced this with 2 sets of springs. I'm currently running Synergy JKU1"/JK2" springs on my 2dr JK. Actual Lift is 3".

You are correct, they aren't. But according to their website: "Notes: 2 Door JK’s should expect to see slightly higher lift heights with use of these springs, but still retain the EVO plush ride quality. Addition or lack of aftermarket products such as bumpers, winches, roof racks etc. will effect actual lift heights." The "slightly higher" comment made me think another 1/2" in or so, not 1.75". I think @TheDirtman is right, I suspect the Fox shocks could be contributing to the problem as well. I should have measured the lift with the Bilsteins on before installing the Foxes. I'm going to bleed 50 PSI of pressure from each shock to see what that does. The Foxes have 200 PSI from the factory and since my rig is on the lower end of the weight they are for I should be good. We'll see. Revalving them would be better. I switched from the Bilsteins because they weren't the right length for the lift I have and I got a smoking deal on the Foxes. BTW, nice looking Jeep, @Boosthead .

Any possibility that there was a coil spacer sitting on top of the old coils and that's what contributing to the higher than expected left?
No, I wish it was something that easy! The only thing above the spring is the original isolator.
I also laid the Evos next to the springs I was taking out and they looked about the same length. I don't know what brand springs were in there from before.
I emailed Fox this morning asking their thoughts. BTW, Fox is very responsive to costumer emails which is nice. They said the shock would contribute to a "small amount" of extra lift but not that much. I emailed back and asked what "small amount" meant. I've got a buddy sending me over his nitrogen charge kit so I'll be able to see the shock pressures and bleed some nitrogen and see what happens. Maybe I should have put the 2.5" Metalcloak springs on to begin with. They have 2.5" just for 2 doors.
I mentioned earlier the ride is better and it is. But it was terrible before with the old springs and new Bilsteins. What's changed is highway speed is even less fun than it was before with the new higher center of gravity.
