10A jku springs on to a 2 door sport
As the subject states this is what I have upcoming for my Jk. Yes, as of now, I am one of those budget guys. I dont have a lot of play money atm but just bought a 10A JKU Rubicon set of springs and shocks, way under market value and less than 200 mi. on them. However I'm having trouble finding out what I need to do this in my driveway (more like the parking space) do I need a new track bar? Can I swap the rear sway links to the front and just buy rears? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Pop the shocks and springs on and see what extra oomph it nets you in regard to lift. Do you plan of head off the pavement? If so, I can't stress enough how nice it is to have some quick disconnects for the front sway bar. That money would be well spent if it suits your use. If you don't plan to offroad much, then yes, moving the rear sway bar links to the front is usually a good move (if you got enough lift to require it.....you just don't want your sway bars angled down). Compare your options for new sway links in the rear. A budget friendly one is making your own out of some 1/2"-20 all-thread (~$5 at HD or Lowes) and four 1/2"-20 rod ends off eBay (~$20). Cut the all-thread to length, slap rod ends on, paint with rattle can for protection, and install with some nuts/bolts/washers from hardware store. Depended on lift netted, you may want to add some $16 brake line brackets. Axles aren't going to shift enough to worry about TBs, and caster probably ain't gonna drop enough to worry about.
Thanks for the input! Pretty excited to see the results especially for the price. I'm also glad to be keeping manufcture components. It is my DD and don't plan on doing serious off road but do enjoy heading to Uwharrie. Ill post results.
If you plan on using the shocks you might look at getting some shock extensions because you will most likely get at least 2" of lift depending on what your stock coils are and if that is what you get you will not have much down travel left. Stock rubicon shocks (does not matter if 10a or recon etc they are the same) are pretty short and only have about 8.5" or so of travel to begin with. You might look at getting a rear track bar bracket as well as depending on how much lift you actually get your roll center might need a boost.
