JK Show & TellWhether they're just poser shots in your driveway or hardcore action shots on the trail, if you've got photos or videos of your Jeep JK Wrangler (or any JK for that matter that you think is worth showing off, inside or out), we want to see them so please post them here! Likewise, if you are wanting to see a photo of something specific like an aftermarket JK part or poser shot with a specific setup, this is the place to ask for it.
‘15 JKR. I put GenRight bumpers and fenders on a few years back. I’ve left them in bare aluminum and have been pleased that a quick scuff with a Scotchbrite pad every few months has kept them looking great. But I’ve always toyed with the idea of painting them black. Last week I picked up a set of JL wheels in black. Today I got busy on two fenders with some PlastiDip in black so that I could easily strip it off if I didn’t like it.
So now I’ll be the freak with silver on one side and black on the other for a while until I make up my mind and either paint the other fenders and bumpers or just scrape off the black.
I've liked your jeep and GenRight's poster 2dr JK stretch in orange because of the raw aluminum. They stand out from the crowd. I would have gone that route if I could but the cards just didn't pan out like that. I vote silver all around.
I'm kinda 6 one way, half dozen the other on looks, but since the bare aluminum is already there, and the work to paint it all black would be decent effort, I'd say bare aluminum. I think it works with the yellow.
I say all aluminum too. Works well with the paint for sure. Now you have me searching for GenRight flares...
Edit: I just did - too ex$pensive for my blood, LOL

Well... I think you guys were right. I took the time yesterday to finish the driver’s side fenders. I’m not sure if it’s more that I don’t like the black or that I don’t like how the PlastiDip looks. I must say that it was a pain to apply and even after four coats it still has tiger stripes.
My next project will be to peel it all back off and enjoy my bare aluminum again.
I think I would stay with the silver, looks nice and for another reason, even with the proper prep, it's hard to get stuff to stick to aluminum for the long run

I just finished peeling it all off. I must say that this stuff actually stuck pretty well. The areas like the inside crevices where I did not get very good coverage will likely have that thin coating on them until the end of time.
All in all, I’m not a fan of the PlastiDip spray. If anyone plans on using it, just expect the coverage to be About 1/4 of what you expect out of regular paint. And if you ever do plan on peeling it back off, be sure that you put it on very thick.
Anyway, I’m back to bare aluminum and quite happy. Now though, as suggested above, I need to get busy and make my rock sliders match....
