Opinions and advice on 2010 JK Unlimited shopping
Hi folks, not sure is this is the correct forum, if not, please moderators forgive me. It is either my first or second post.
I am casually shopping for a Wrangler Unlimited and have a 2010 Unlimited JK Sport in my sights. The mileage is at 92K. I did some research and the 100K service doesn't look to be that intrusive unless I am missing something. It is a single owner, 4wd, automatic, hardtop, 3.8 3.8L V6 SMP.
We test drove it last night and my JK Sahara 2dr owning S.O. hasn't exactly told me they thought it a bad deal. I don't mind working on a car myself, or at least giving it my best effort through message board advice and youtube videos.
This would be a daily driver for me on the highway and a weekend trail toy on the weekends. Not looking to be a crawler...yet.
I hear about interference vs non-interference engines in relation to the belts and just need some insight from the wise sages of this forum.
Thank you in Advance!

While in the process of trying to help a buddy find something, opportunistically, I keep coming back to the same things.....Try to stay '13+ to get the 3.6L and newer seats which were a big improvement, if can't, at least try to at least stay '12 to get the 3.6L, and if can't do either of those, at least try to stay '11 so you get the newer interior. There's so many jeeps out there. He was considering a couple 3.8Ls with ~100k miles, and all I can think about is the fun lower intake manifold gasket leaks and other fun repairs I see the guys with 3.8L's talking about. That said, there are so many people with very high mileage on those 3.8Ls and they seem like reliable engines if you can get past the lack of power.
Depending on price and options, you could be looking at a decent deal. I'm one of the folks with a pile of miles on a 3.8 with very minimal issues....aside from low power. I've daily driven mine for 10 years now and 225k miles. I'm pretty happy with my purchase.
That is encouraging! Thanks! The one I am looking at is Mango Tango!

Go drive a pentastar in the same trim platform and you'll realize what you're missing. My girlfriend has a basic sport like I do and hers will scoot down the interstate all day long and pass without missing a beat. Now that I've regeared, mine will move a little more but it's really just made 1st a granny gear and turned 6th into a normal 5th- but, I'm not dropping to 3rd/ 4th to get it to climb small hills at 45-50mph.
