Question Are Winch Tow Hooks like Earrings?

I happened to be reloading my winch line while reminiscing back to much younger and funner days when I suddenly remembered the old school convention of dudes wearing earrings. Back in my day, a left earring indicted that one was "straight," while those wearing one in their right were, say, "alternative." Having said that, and I may be overthinking yesterday's customs against today's norms, I began to wonder if placing the winch tow hook on either the front bumper's left or right D-ring shackle would somehow still reflect the same stuff...or even the more contentious issues of being "left" or "right" of center in the political spectrum. Strange question, I know, and I'm gonna assume that it all doesn't really matter, but then again in today's world where everything seems to be an issue, subliminal and otherwise, I thought it best to check for any unwritten Davinci Code when it comes to tow hook placement. And, Yes, this is a sincere question without anything directed against anyone, but even the Bloods and Crips back in the day had their left vs right broken headlights as a symbol of affiliation. Or, maybe I just had too much fun in the 1980s and lost my mind now.

And while I'm reminiscing, R.I.P. EVH...

I'd say that most are tending to use things like factor 55 thimbles and pulling the line right up against the fairlead, and it has more to do with a clean look more than anything. I'm old enough to get the earring reference cuz that indeed how it was back in the day. Maybe when I was younger I cared what people thought about me.....I could really care less these days. Too much pressure to care about that crap, but I'm also very anti-social media and I wear cargo shorts and still own crocs. I do however care just enough to not go shopping in pajamas like some people think is ok these days. I guess I do have some level of caring still, but maybe that is more about respecting other people that it is caring what they think about me.

WOW.. not to be insensitive, but the post is "out there" (Bull Durham). Like resharp, the left is straight but in today's PC world the LEFT has a socialist agenda...I'm with the Remove your hat - stand for the Anthem - open your presents on Christmas morning crowd.

Could be said with 2 dr or 4 dr, just to stir things up.
ok, funny to me, nothing wrong with soccer mom's driving 4 drs, but.......

I'll probably get kicked off this forum for that, but it was a joke, anybody driving a 4 dr that got offended, I do apologise that you're sensitive and get your feelings hurt easy and that I said anything that did it.

As long as you don't still part your hair in the middle you're ok... On a brighter note the Mullet is coming back in style which should make you happy.
