Default Black Diamond 3" Lift sadness

My Black Diamond 3" Lift arrived today from 4wd.com Obviously I was pumped and promptly proceeded to rip open the boxes (like a three year old at Christmas) and have a look at my new toys, but I was quickly let down when I discovered the condition of the parts....maybe I had too high of expectations....all the parts are there which is great, they even included limiting straps that I had no idea were going to be in the kit...but the sway bar links they include in the kit were bare unfinished metal and showing corrosion on the ends already likewise the rear track bar relocation bracket came in its bare metal, unfinished form...again, maybe I had the wrong expectations. SO....I would just like to ask a few opinions from those with more suspension experience than I...

...seeing as how I've been waiting awhile, and am really chomping at the bit to install this kit, would it be reasonable to do a good primer and paint job to the parts to stave off further corrosion and make the parts last....or would that be a waste of time and I should rather suck it up and return the parts ?

Oh....while I'm at it, I'll also throw out there that I decided to go with ProComps MX6 adjustable shocks to compliment the lift...opinions on these?

That is BS if you ask me. I would send it back. I would think they should at least come painted.

....yeah, it's a little upsetting. Especially getting it up here across the border...and now to have to send it back. I have even started contemplating getting those pieces powder coated somewhere...honestly it'll probably cost just as much to ship it as it would to coat 'em...well, not sure who to blame 4wd for shipping this sub par stuff or Black Diamond for putting it out there...so as a word of caution to all others...and I read so many good things about Black Diamond

Yikes
Sorry for your trouble, but there is no way I would accept that, I get the feeling you feel the same.

I would have thought the same thing, either painted or power coated, some kind of finish. With the snow removal chemicals you see there those pieces will be in terrible condition in no time.

Well, I think before jumping to conclusions you might want to contact Black Diamond and asked them about it. It might be a honest mistake. It might be a problem with the part they may not be aware off. The reseller that sold it to you might not have stored it appropriately. Even the best of companies will at one time or another ship a defective product... Talk to them.

Certainly before you throw a vendor under the bus on a public forum, you should contact them first. That's just common courtesy.

Just got off the phone with one of Black Diamonds Reps...they are sending replacement parts out right now, very cool, they have saved face with me. I just hope noone else ends up with a similar surprise.
