Default tpms, do i really need them????

i was planning on getting new rims and tires, do i really need to keep these on when i get my new ones on? besides it telling me when i need air and all. also, if i dont put them back on, will the onboard computer beep or something? thanks

Your light on the dash will remain lit and you will get a couple of dings when you first start your engine.

Something to think about is if you ever sell or trade it in. Federal law requires all 2008's and above to have this feature. You will not be able to pass an inspection to sell or trade it in.

Just take them out of your old wheels and put them in your new ones and be done with it.

They just screw in and out....it's easy. Just have him be careful when putting the new tire on the rim so he doesn't snap the sensor inside the rim off.

Do you need TPMS?
Not unless you drive too fast, in an overloaded vehicle, with underinflated Firestone Wilderness AT tires.
So, according to our ever-expanding government, yes, you need TPMS.

As I discovered when my left front tire took a massive locust thorn while on a hunting trail, the TPMS indicator also causes your dash lights to go full bright. Unless you like the dimmer on full bright, it's mighty annoying.
