Anyone running headers on there rigs...anyone notice a differance...are they worth the money... thank you

 

I have the Banks headers. Are they worth the $? For me they are, I linked them with cai and cat back. I did it all together so not sure how much they helped in performance. But the combo was definitely worth it!

 

Do a search as there are a few threads on it. I think the overall concensus is that they aren't worth it unless you plan on doing CAI, exhaust, and cats. I don't have them so other people that have them may like them, I've just got other places that I rather spend the money. Like some bumpers and winch.

 

they will be worth it in the long run...IF (key word) if they come out with longtubes, replacement shorty or midlength headers would not offer any more than stock, maybe 3-5 rwhp Vs 8-10 with longtubes and the right stuff done with the rest of the exhaust. I have not seen any longtubes yet but think they'll make it sooner or later. The shorties like Banks, Borla, etc will last longer, less prone to cracking, if they are ceramic coated or stainless they'll keep the engine bay a little cooler.

You sir, get a gold star. All these headers that are being made now offer slim to no power gains over stock. Hell, they already have headers from the factory in EVERY definition of a header. Seperate tubes from each cylinder joined to a common collector. You can't get more header than that. They sure ain't log type manifolds. Until somebody does make a long tube header, they ain't gettin my money.

 

"If I knew then what I know now." An old saying but true. I would not put them on if I had it to do again as a matter of fact when I get time the Gibsons are coming off. NO IMPROVEMENT OVER STOCK MANIFOLDS!!!! Even with CAI or dual out or straight pipes, even with a supercharger. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! Sorry for yelling but they have no seat of the pants power improvement or mpg improvement. Can't speak for the Banks, but they look exactly like my Gibsons. If you do put them on, make sure you have heat sheilds at your coils and battery box. I was the Gibson guinea pig and have a melted battery box to show for it. If they ever come out with long tubes, which I doubt with the cats where they are, I migt consider them again. Good luck with whatever you decide. I wish I didn't have this desease where I have to try new thigs out.

I would love to run headers! Even though they say they won't affect the warranty of your vehicle, I'm sure if something even remotely messes up on the Jeep regarding your motor the dealer would blame your headers and would not cover it..

I installed a Black Diamond 3" lift kit and the left front speed sensor went out a little after that. Dealer wouldn't cover it because of the lift; I'll wait till my 3 year mark before add-ons like that.
