Question 34 in tire, brake recommendations

2016 JK with a 2.5 in lift and 315s. Recently lifted with wheels/tires, i noticed the breaking if fine but you definitely need a heavier foot. 116k on the odometer, turn the rotors with new pads or are there any recommendations for new rotors drilled/slotted ect..

Thanks, Jake

Something like this will actually improve braking. You'll need at least 17" wheels to fit it ...

I have the above kit. It's a significant improvement in braking, well worth the cost. Especially on larger tires.

I have the Dynatrac kit also and it is a huge improvement over the factory brakes. You won't regret that kit at all. Easy to install and you don't need to open the brake lines either.

The Dynatrac ProGrip brakes are great. I have been running them several years and it is a huge improvement over stock. I run 37s and it stops better than the factory brakes and stock Rubicon wheels and tires.

Definitely worth the money.

One thing to note, the dynatrac brake kit uses the stock calipers. For the same money, you can get the crown big brake kit for the front and just the rear dynatrac brake kit. The advantage here is that the front crown big brake kit uses a larger rotor plus a dual piston caliper. I’m using this setup on my jku with 37’s and heavy beadlocks and have zero issues coming to a quick stop from 80mph.

I went with the Crown kit. I snagged it for $350 off eBay back in the day directly from Crown and have been happy with it. You can go down a rabbit hole of clamping force vs. increased diameter. For me the price was right for the larger caliper and 13" rotors, though these days it costs more....but is still have the price of the DT kit. I'm still using the factory MC on my '13 and it is acceptable to me, though brake feel is sure a subjective thing. (similar setup to Sv_dude above.....37's and beadlocks that weigh in ~115lbs ea)

DITTO on Resharp.. Have Crown BB Kit Fronts only on the 13 JKU w/35s.. Great upgrade and when you check the kit composition it is all MOPAR Part Numbers; from 1500 Ram truck. I wasn't lucky like Resharp bought mine from Quadratec. While installing replaced the lines with Crown Performance lines for a 2.5" lift and didn't use the brackets.
