OBD2 Scanner in continuous use with Manual Transmission?
Hi guys,
I'm wondering about using the Torque app (or similar) to add some real-time gauges to my stock 2015 JK Sahara.
(I'd like a Voltmeter for one.)
My question is regarding the OBD2 scanner. I don't own one, but from the pictures it looks like it would stick out and be in the way.
I have a manual transmission, and I don't want to kick this thing, or worse, break it off when shifting.
My OBD2 adapter stuck out quite a bit and eventually I ended up accidentally doing what I should have done to begin with: Breaking off the plastic mounting ring and remounting all of it with a couple zip-ties to the adjacent brace. Now it's out of the way, and if I need to get to the port for other purposes, it's easily pulled from the zip-ties, then reinserted afterward. It really wasn't all that much in the way, despite my plus-sized adapter. One of the shorter ones would probably be just fine.
