Anyone know where is a good place to take keeps for off-road/performance mods in New Jersey?

Welcome to JKF. .. I suggest use the SEARCH .. located in the top right,, Jeep Clubs in New Jersey.. several threads found there for clubs in New Jersey.. You might search WEB for the specific clubs websites and officer listing.. Ask them, they are a good resource.
