JScan settings for towing
Towing a 2000 lb trailer with a 2013 Wrangler Sport 2D running 30" tires. Got some good information here and regeared from 3.21 to 4.10. Shop did a great job mechanically, but lacked the skills to setup the computer. Bought a Veepeak OBDCheck and the JScan app and got it done myself. Huge difference towing hilly terrain. What I'm wondering now is if I should make changes in the programming specific to towing. Maybe gear shift points or some other settings that would improve performance while towing. Any suggestions or experience with this?
There's nothing like that you can do with the Jscan, that I know of. It all is what it is after updating the computer for gearing and tire size if that is applicable. That is about comparable to me towing my little overland trailer. Most the time the auto tranny is ok if you just manage it. Sometimes in more hilly areas I just kick it to manual mode.
@resharp001 thanks for the reply. I did use the JScan to set my axle ratio and tire size. Like you I find the automatic transmission works smoothly on flats and moderate hills, but it will sometime struggle to find the right gear on steeper grades. I was hoping for a simple one click towing solution buried somewhere in the app.
