Default Smitybilt JK Stinger - Not Flush Fitment

Well it's the weekend and I probably won't be able to speak with anyone over @ Smitybuilt in regards to this.

Installed my new front bumper and it doesn't fit as flush as I've seen it on other JK models?

Has anyone experienced this issue or heard of something like this before?

I figured the flat piece would be flush under the grill giving it an enclosed look? Any comments appreciated.

The flat piece is where a winch would mount and not meant to enclose the space that is open.

Also the winch you would place there has to clear the sway bar actuator motor.

Man those Chinese really need to learn welding a little more. But the price is right and I am looking at one too.

Y, definitely one of those things you get what you pay for, but in terms of front and/or rear bumpers definitely one of those things you can get by with. I've had 2 smitty front bumpers in the past (the stinger was one) and they were generally fine. I used to tow my jeep behind a motorhome and Blue Ox had a Smitty adapter which was nice and which was why I stuck with them. Once I sold the MH I swapped to a PSC bumper, but really didn't have any issues with the Smitty bumpers. Obvisouly when you go to a any stubby or stinger, you have to realize you don't have the best bumper for a frontal crash situation. Definitely don't think that smitty stinger is going to save you in a crash or a frontward tumble (kinda more looks).

Yes, needs a winch and it’ll look great, you could probably put a plate over it, but a winch would look better, and be useful
