Default rocker guard body mounting question

i am making a set of rocker guards and will be mounting them to the body also. i am wondering what are some of the aftermarket companies using to bolt into the body. they look like little inserts or something. the only thing i could find at the hardware store was inserts for wood and drywall. can someone help me out? maybe some pictures?

They use "nutserts" or "well-nuts", they are easier to find online then in hardware stores
