Default Reinstall ball joint after welding gussets?

I did a search around the web and dove into the forums and couldn't find an answer to this.

I installed Teraflex HD ball joints about 9 months ago and have only put around 2500 miles on them. (I've been working from home and not driving much.) Since I'm not driving much right now I figured it's a good time for some upgrades. One of those is welding C gussets on my 44. Can I remove the upper ball joints and reinstall them after welding or will it mess them up?

You can remove them and then reinstall afterward. With that upper you really need the adapter kit to get it out properly without damaging it if I recall. It's been a while, but I seem to recall the basic BJ press kits don't have the proper adapter to get it out without just pushing on the stud. Not a big deal if you're removing crapped out BJs but obviously not what you want to do if you're re-using one.

My installer wrapped the ball joints in a wet rag and only welded about an inch or less at a time near them. They appear to have survived fine in place...at least so far.

I would remove them. Rent a ball joint press from the auto parts store. There’s adapters there that will work well with the TF ball joints.
