Throttle Body Questions-Mods
Hello, my 07 JKU started the lag on firing the engine, so I need to replace my TB, I looked at the Viper replacement, 72mm boar on it and it is cheap too, this always scares me a little.
Looking at the OEM I have found them from over $300 to $245, about dbl the cost and a smaller boar as well, but it is OEM, I know it will be fine.
I have also looked at the spacers and they also come in all design configurations touting better airflow and performance, still under review on this one.
My question is this; if I were to install this larger boar TB does anyone else thank that it is only a matter of time till my Jeeps Computer learns that this is not stock and makes adjustments to the air and fuel turning it back to stock once more making this larger boar useless?
I am also looking at the Jet 74mm boar, they state in their specs that they have made "pre-set" changes to the electronics in the TB that will adjust for the larger boar. I have this very question out to JET as well, I can repost what they say, but I am hoping that some of you have done this mod and or replacement and can offer some advice on the subject. I just do not want to spend a bunch of coins on something that just might turn back to stock on me.
