Default Shocks help - 6" lift

I have a 2008 JKUR with a 6" Terraflex lift with 9550s. I have 37" D rated tires. This is my daily driver and I spend a lot of time in town and on highways driving 65-70 mph. We have a lot of animals in my part of WY and it is not uncommon to have to swerve. I do occasional off roading with some pretty rough trails, but I don't do rock crawling like Moab stuff.

Currently my ride is very rough. Every bump in the road is jarring. Also, it feels like it sways at high speeds.

My goal is for a shock that will make driving around town and on highways more comfortable and also give me control to be able to swerve around a deer. Is there a shock that can do this? I also want it to perform okay while off roading, so maybe adjustable?

I'd like to spend under $2500. I've been researching Fox 2.0 series, Falcon 3.3, and heard people recommend King and others. Hoping the community can give me some guidance of the pros and cons of the different shocks for a 6" lift to try and meet my goals.

Also, do my bump stops look properly spaced? I had someone say the spaces looked too small. Is there a way to determine if they are correct?

Any input is appreciated.

Lower your lift to max 3" with 37s and get a decent set of shocks (OME or Rock Krawler, or ICON) and it will be 100x better. For springs use EVO plush ride or Metal Cloak. Six inches is just way too much.

6" lift and sharp turns to avoid deer at 70mph - you are brave. Best way IMO is to leave 5 minutes earlier and slow down. Seriously though - your bump stops are mainly to avoid bottoming out the shocks under flex and to avoid spring binding. To do that you have to calculate shock travel and add or delete bump stop spacers from there. Best way to get steering response without ending up in the weeds is with a sway bar especially if you are happy with the shocks now. Another question - are you sure you have enough brake line and wheel sensor wire length for full droop on the axle? Looks a bit short to me.

+1.

The handling issue isn't so much the shocks as it is that COG IMO. What is your current caster? At 6" you are asking a lot of a factory axle. As far as bump stops, it looks like you have 3" on the bottom and then you have those TF extensions on the top. Keep in mind that little foam thing just about completely compresses so don't just go by the visual distance between the foam and the lower bump. As mentioned, if you want properly sized bump stops you really need to remove the springs and cycle that suspension for proper measurements.

I don't think you're going to find any shock that is going to resolve your issue, even if you spend $2500 on bling.

Your suspension is a mess, the shocks are not size for the bumps you have installed. Way too much lift, teraflex shocks suck and you don't have any caster at that ride height. No high steer at 6"? I would start with replacing everything and starting over with this kit. https://metalcloak.com/jk-wrangler-3...lift-kits.html. Add a raised front track bar bracket and drag link flip. You will fix your steering geometry, reduce your body roll, and have a much safer ride while still haveing plenty of lift for 37's.

Are you long arm or stock length? Either way you need to reduce lift height. If you don't know how to properly setup bump stops I would have someone help you that does. It's about setting them up to where you can get the most "stuff", or up travel, without bottoming out the shocks or having rubbing with the tires or axle hitting the frame. I would follow Dirtman's advise if it were me, and do that.
