Default Will a 2018 JL hardtop fit my 2007?

I read on a thread that any hardtop from 2007 thru 2018 would fit my 2007. I found a near new 2018 JL top but it is not lining up. Can someone confirm?

With the front bolts of the rear half lining up the freedom top is still a couple inches short. I can’t slide it forward any more or the rear doors won’t shut.

The rear is slid forward as far as it will go and still allow the doors to shut. Also the rear needs to be shimmed up a couple inches just so the top of the door will clear.

Totally different body so I doubt it as the shorter top is because of the JL sloped back windshield. Advertise the hard top and put a want ad out for a JK top is probably the best way to go.

Thanks Sixty4x4. I wish I’d done a little more homework before spending the time and money.

I am pretty sure you can dispose of that hardtop easy as it works for someone that has purchased a soft top JL without the hardtop andhave changed their mind. Not sure what you paid for it as the option for dual tops in Canada is $2695 but then again the diesel is $9130.

You gotta keep in mind that in 2018 they made both JKs and JLs, so what you previously read was not necessarily incorrect, but yes, it has to be a hardtop from a JK. JL was a brand new design.

Thanks for the info. Guess I didn’t do my homework. I appreciate the quick response. I’ve posted it locally for $1,500 just so I can move it quickly.
