Default 4" Rough Country Long arm lift JKU. Install or Nah.

Hello fellow Jeepers. This is not a review post or a post comparing lifts or asking for lift brand recommendations. About 2 years ago I purchased a 4" Rough Country long arm lift for my 2009 JKU. It was a black Friday deal and I jumped the gun. Make a long story short life has got in the way and I have kept this lift in the boxes in my garage. Finally today I said you know what. Lets put this thing on so I can free up space and be done with it. YES I HAVE RESEARCHED MULTIPLE THREADS ABOUT ROUGH COUNTRY QUALITY. Hence the reason I've never fully committed to getting it installed. I have zero intentions of doing hardcore wheeling. I made a call about having it installed today. The guy said I can't give you a hard quote without seeing it. Normally people spend more $$$ on a quality long arm. Fair enough. He recommended against it but If I wanted to have it done swing by and we can discuss price. All that said. If yall were in my position.... Would you attempt to sell the lift? Or put it on? If you've had experience with this lift I would appreciate your input. I've carried these boxes around for long enough. Thanks

Well first of all, what size tires will you be going with that you need a 4" lift?

I currently run 35s TOYO Open Country. No plans to go bigger.

My opinion would be to sell that one and save a lot of money and hassle and just go with a 2.5 lift. I am going to send you an message on here.

Running 35s does not need or require 4" Lift.. a 2.5" lift will run the 35s..now how do you use or plan to use your rig is what you have to address to even get close to justifying 4" long arm lift (IMO). Good Luck Selling.

If you are going to only run 35's then sell it and get a quality mid-arm lift like something from Metalcloak.

I appreciate the input everyone! At the time being when I purchased the lift the Jeep was no longer my daily driver. I had this grand plan of ideas just as everyone else does. Until an uninsured driver totalled my work commuter and back to the Jeep I went (Ol' Reliable). I have decided I will ATTEMPT to sell the lift. I've had it long enough and as its been pointed out, is overkill. You live and you learn right?

Rough Country has definitely improved their products over the years, but 4" is way more than you need for 35s. Lifting it more than you need will only cause problems and you'd definitely need new driveshafts. You can probably get a really good quality 2.5-3" lift for what you make off of selling the RC kit.
