I went under the Jeep today to install the wiring for the new axles. By rauting the harness, I discover that the clear/white hose adapter for the full fill hose on the tank is cracked and leaks. I have smelled gas each time I fill up, but did never checked on it. Now that I know, what is the best place for OE parts beside the MOPAR dealer? For BMW, Porsche I use AZ autohaus or Pelican.
Thanks, the part is not listed on any Mopar / AZ / Rockauto page. I found the hose, the way to install the GM check valve, but not the Neck where the hose connects. The white plastic in the left side on the picture This plastic piece is broken
.
Man, Pelican Parts....I miss that website. I wish things were as easy to find with good pictures too boot as they are on EU cars on sites like Pelican.
I typically track down the part number and just start searching google. Lot of times I end up just getting the part on Amazon or one of the Mopar sites (hate paying that shipping though). I get a few things from Rock Auto from time to time. Rock Auto is a sponsor here and gives a small discount. The current code is 11B71B1ABC9B21 for a 5% discount till the end of March '22.
Possible to just get some good epoxy over the crack and salvage the part you have?
Piece of model train brass tubing inside the broken piece and let it protrude out about 1/2" to let the broken piece fit over it. Epoxy/JB Weld the tube into the gas tank side. Let it harden then do the same for the outer broken end. Put some epoxy on the plastic where it joins at the tank piece. Lube the connector with some oil or similar to reduce the strain of pressing it on. Make sure the line is not flexed against the connector spigot and tie it solidly to a frame rail or something.
What Sixty4x4 said. Mopar doesn't sell that fuel tank outlet separately, they only carry the entire tank. If you brought it to the dealer for that, they would sell you a new tank.
Well, this information sucks. I haven be able to go to a dealer, but thanks for the heads up. I will fix it one or the other way and install the GM check valve at the same time.
