Default Let’s see your tire carrier/rear mounted rotopax or Jerry can/other accessories!

Exploring options for tire carrier mounted rotopax or Jerry cans, shovels, hi lifts, or anything else.

Id love to see photos, and what tailgate hinge/tire carrier you are using for your fuel container mounts!

My jeep’s going into the shop next week for a regear and planning to remove the hard rock rear bumper in favor of something stronger, and a tire carrier to add a full sized spare.

I’ve been considering morryde or Maximus 3, but would love to see other options!

Thanks all!

This is from Shrockworks out of Houston. I bought it years ago and am not sure of their current status making it (they are still in business, though). It took a few months for delivery, which was pretty standard for them back then. You use the word "Stronger", and you're not going to find anything stronger than this, I expect. It is US-made.

A little hijack for Mark, who is the vendor of the Air intake system? and is that a prefilter on top or a filter? I would like to remove the filter from under the hood.

That is an AEV snorkel with the prefilter that they sold at that time. While the prefilter does trap a fair amount of the dirt, you would not want to remove the OEM filter in the air box down below. Also, since I have the 3.8L motor, this is a smaller size snorkel (3") than was offered on the 3.6L (4"). And that one has a much different optional prefilter. It empties on its own instead of requiring daily emptying. You can see it on my friend Ray's Jeep in these images from our Al-Can trip ...

Shrockworks does appear to still be around, their websites up to date and I found the tire carrier. Looks very nice. Definitely a good option, thank you.

That actually looks like exactly what I’m looking for.

Mine uses the Teraflex hinge

The wife uses the Rock Slide Engineering tire mount.

FYI, when I bought mine LED weren't really a good option for the backup lights. So, I bought the PIAAs that Shrockworks recommended. Had two bulbs burn out and replacing took loosening the bumper after removing all the rest of the setup. I've since replaced with Rigid LEDs that fit perfectly, and am no longer concerned about the pain of replacing burned out bulbs. And I'm not sure Shrockworks delivery times have improved at all. It pays to be patient with them; you'll receive a quality product.

Not a problem. Thank you. I really like that tire carrier and will plan to go with that. Not in a huge rush, been rocking a factory rubicon spare for the last 9 months. Not ideal, and can’t wait to replace it.

Really appreciate all your info!
