Default What have i done now with this Superchips thingy

Hi all

For some unknown reason, i can only blame it on my Parkinsons , i erased the Gear ratio and Transfer case inputs and returned it to stock. Im running on 38" tires. Since then when i start the engine and accelerate it will change up thru the gears until the last change where it doesnt change at all. Then lets say you drive a little further and come to a stop at traffic lights, the lights change to green and you accelerate again, At this point Its as though its in maybe 3rd gear pulling off and doesnt change at all. But if you turn the engine off and on again it repeats as mentioned before.

So the codes i have are P0731 & 732 Gear 1 & 2 Incorrect ratio

So i have tried setting the ratio to 4.30, 4.56, 4.63, 4.88 etc but doesnt rectify it

Called superchip but they said they havnt a clue

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Guessing you have an auto tranny (useful to have that in your profile). What actual gearing do you have in the diffs? I'm surprised it will even operate with the wrong gear ratio set in the computer. My '13 would throw me in limp mode immediately if the computer gear ratio was not corresponding to how the jeep was actually rolling on the pavement. I don't see a lot of folks that are ever thrilled with SuperChip products for their jeep.

Hummmm ....

There is more to this than what you’re telling us.

I have a DiabloSport I3 along with their hacked ECM and granted, nothing is ever smooth, and yes, there are a few hiccups - but it always gets figured out at the end of the day.

1. Was the Jeep already programmed when you got it and you attempted to ‘tweek’ it with a different programmer from what was originally used ?

If not -

2. Was it you who changed the factory programming, and if it was - did you use the Superchips product to do it ?

And if you did -

3. Before modifying any settings - did you back-up the factory settings as per the instructions ?

All of these are easy to do - but can cost you hours in figuring out if you missed something (and a tremendous amounts of beers).

I’m on board with resharp here - I can’t imagine an Auto not throwing a sh$t load of codes and introducing you to limp mode if your gear ratios were wrong ....
