American Adventure Lab M.A.S.S. plate and Flip n' Slide
I finally got around to installing my American Adventure Lab M.A.S.S. Rear cargo plate kit and the Flip ‘n Slide.
Installation was a breeze and everything is solid and only the water bottles in the fridge rattle around. Other than that, build quality is excellent. I am going to have to pull it all out at some point in time and add some sound deadening mat or something. You need to pull the carpet out and there is a noticeable difference (at least to me) in road noise. But it’s nothing that would make me give this stuff a bad review at all. I’ll be adding two of the 6” drawers some time in the future as those will allow me to put two Step 22 HD Flat Packs on top of them under the storage rack shelf.
And yes, the AAL stuff worked seamlessly with both of the Springtail Solutions Side Saddle storage cubbies AND the Springtail Solutions tailgate table and I can still close the tailgate without my 1/2” torque wrench hitting any of the AAL stuff.
So far, I’m really happy and impressed with everything from them.
Oh, almost forgot, added the ARB blutooth dongle thingamajig to the fridge so I can check fridge temp and battery voltage with the ARB app on my phone.
That looks like a nice clean setup there. I always look at things like that and think they'd be nice to have but I have a hard time separating myself from the "trunk" I built years ago. It's so nice to have a place I can store all my tools full time without fear of someone stealing things when the top is off. Not to mention, it's really nice to have pieces that flip forward to create a flat surface when the rear seats are folded down. The thing that sucks is it totally eliminates the option to use products like you have there. I'd love to have my fridge on a slide cuz it stinks getting into it while in the back of the jeep. My "trunk" is about 6" high off the tub floor so with the fridge in there I can't open the top fully which makes getting meal supplies out pretty awkward. I hate that area above the rear wheel wells and have looked at something similar to what you have in that area. Maybe I need to try and make something work for that area specifically.

So the nice thing about the plate that the fridge slide is mounted to is that it uses the "L Track" standard. Meaning you can use any "L Track" accessory with it. Including tie downs and mounting solutions. The fridge slide mounts the the plate using four bolts that are easy to remove. I think the entire installation took me 20 minutes once I got the carpeting pulled out. It would only take about 5 minutes to pull the fridge slide out but I went ahead and drilled the slide and bolted my fridge to it so I am not having to use those ARB fridge straps anymore. I got sick of constantly tightening them. So, if I didn't have to remove the fridge from the slide it would be out pretty quick. The 6" drawers I am ordering this summer are lockable. AND, AAL is planning on making a rear seat delete that integrates with the existing MASS plate that I have. So it might be a system to actually consider. I know it's pricey, but so far, I'd buy it again if asked. Just the MASS plate itself might be worth it since it offers a recognized standard for attaching stuff to it. You could make your own drawers and stuff that use the L Track standard and have an easy to install and remove system.
Well when I was working out in Fort Collins I ordered the 6" drawers from American Adventure Lab and had them shipped to my hotel there. Saved a ton on shipping vs. having them shipped to Ohio or Tennessee. Anyways, got back to the Jeep a few weeks ago and got them installed. They went in just fine after I removed the axe from the passenger side of the molle side cubby and I had to take the molle pouches of my tailgate table. But that is ok as I was planning on putting everything that was in the molle pouches in the drawers anyway. Again, well made, no rattles or squeaks. Just built really solid. Oh, and they are lockable too! I forgot about that part. And, as I thought, the Step 22 Stingray Flat Boxes fit perfectly on top of the drawers.
