Default Extended warranty > engine swap??

Alright, so my JK is still running on the good ol' 3.8L hunka-junk. 151,000 miles and she's starting to show her age, and sounds like it.

Straight to the chase; If my 3.8 decides to leave the chat, I'm gonna need a new motor. I just got an extended warranty last month, bumper-bumper, and I know it covers engine, tranny, and other big parts in entirety. Question is, will it cover an entry into the V-8 swap community?

Extended Warranty is through Endurance.

You will need to read the paperwork. But i highly doubt they will replace your current motor etc with anything besides a direct replacement. Probably a refurbished one if i had to guess.
However if they do offer to upgrade you, i need to get that warranty !

How did you manage to get a warranty on a likely 10 plus year old vehicle, with 150k miles!?

OP has a 2011. They pushed a lifetime warranty in 2011, if i recall, to help move the 3.8L off the lot as the new 3.6L models where coming in and folks tended to wait for that. I'm guessing that is the case here.

Can't say I really had a worry of not finding something, I just called up Endurance, gave them Y/M/M, they gave me a quote for $100/month, and here I am, worried about this engine falling apart lmao

Unfortunately, the only person who can acquire that info is you since you have the contract in hand. And Id imagine that you reach out to someone at the warranty company and straight up ask. But I guarantee you they'll say it's got to be the same engine or an equivalent.

or “like kind or quality” then they can get one from a salvage yard and say they are doing you a favor by finding one with less miles, even if is just a few hundred less miles.
when I worked at the dealership, insurance companies always tried that, I would tell them that we would install, but without any warranty or guarantee on anything, sometimes the insurance company would pay more for a factory re-man, sometimes not
