Is a 2.5in Suspension lift worth it 2WD Unlimited X?
I wanted to ask the community if a 2.5in suspension lift was even worth me spending the money on for my 2WD JK 4 door. Looking at it from the fact that it’s not a 4WD and might have more downsides compared to upsides?
I mean, you're really only lifting for looks and even doing a cheap budget boost is going to cost a little bit once you add an adjustable track bar and something to correct caster as well. Presume you want to lift and then add larger tires.....which will also slow you down and chew up fuel economy......and possibly set you off to a regear. The plus-side is you only have one axle to regear!
Those 2WD models are pretty rare to see in the wild. I've only seen one in person. IMO, I think it probably doesn't make much sense to put so much money into something just for the looks. I am not a fan of body lifts, but maybe this is a situation where a 1" body lift could help a touch rather than messing with suspension.

This is the exact explanation I needed. I planned on sticking with the 33s I had on right now because I know my gas mileage would suck even more. I was going to do it cause I heard some said it helped made the jeep a little more stable, but seems like it's more noticeable on 4WDs. I'm definitely going to do a 1" instead. I appreciate the feedback!/help !
Raising your COG is never going to make driving a brick on the pavement more stable....exactly the opposite IMO. In fact, I'd submit that most people that lifted their jeeps think they've improved a lot of aspects, including offroad capabilities....but that is not necessarily the case. Maybe they increased a bit of ground clearance at the frame/body side, but that doesn't always translate to "better".
What size tires do you have now? You can go as high as a 285/70 without any lift, which is about as high and wide and looks good (to me anyway) without raising the center of gravity, washers behind the steering stops if you want, or leave them out and just remember that it will rub on the front stabilizer bar at full turn, which is usually only in a parking lot if you aren’t off road.
I would say fill up the fender wells with a step up in tires and leave the lift alone, my jeep does better off road without a lift than any trucks I’ve had with a lift.
a lift does get you more ground clearance if you’re rock climbing or deep mud, but the factory height with bigger tires does well.
I have never seen a 2wd jk in real life, the stance could be a little different than the 4wd though

I apologize for replying late, but I have 285/70s on it already, at first it did rub with the factory wheels but I upgraded and bought some wheels with -12mm offset so that solved the rubbing problem. Honestly like i said I just wanted to do it for looks because I know with the 2WD a lift wouldn't do any benefits for me other than ground clearance (which I guess would make it even easier for me when I'm changing my oil haha). I'm starting to agree with just leaving it alone honestly, but if I circle back to this I will most likely go with just a 1" leveler. I appreciate the feedback from y'all.
Since you're mostly concerned about aesthetics (i get it) post a pic of your jeep with the current tire/wheel package and let the group comment on the current looks and whether they think a lift will add anything.

I knew a guy that bought a 2wd Nissan ExTerra, He had no clue until he tried to use the 4x4 one day and noticed it was missing the buttons.
I can see getting sucked into a jeep for a good deal and not even thinking to make sure the 4x4 parts are there.
I'm curious how they did the 2 wheel drive on the wrangler?
just a solid bar for the front axle?
