Stiff Steering 15 JKU
I have a 15 JKU that I put a 3.5" RC lift with 35's and did Teraflex adjustable ball joints along with new Moog steering linkage assembly and just a stock replacement steering dampner. My issue is now I have very stiff steering, I took the tires off and unkooked the tie rod on both sides and the new ball joints are smooth as butter, I re-tourqed all the steering linkage and still really stiff. When I put the front end in the air it's smooth but once back on the ground so damn stiff. I replaced the factory dampner with a new RC one and same thing. Do these gear boxes have known problems?

Hey Dirty Hairy do you have dropped pitman arm or did you do a drag link flip to the top side of steering knuckle? with a 3.5" lift I'm thinking possibly your drag link angle is severe enough to cause binding or a stiffer feel when turning. While we are here, what about your track bar? did you raise the track bar mount on the axle side? are the angles for track bar and drag link the same as in parallel ?
I have an adjustable track bar but I did not do a drop pitman arm, I didn't think that would cause stiff steering and mostly just fixed bumpsteer but I may as well toss one in there and see. I had a 2013 JK 2 door with the same lift and 35" tires with a stock track bar and it drove excellent. My thoughts keep going to the steering gear but this whole thing is confusing.
