Default Extreme Terrain transmission cooler installation

I purchased a automatic transmission cooler from Extreme Terrain (RT OFF ROAD) for my 2009 JK but it did not contain installation instructions. Extreme Terrain support personnel say "have it installed by professional mechanic". Has anyone else installed this and maybe have pictures or ? I am hesitant to start installation until I have at least a general idea of where brackets attach, etc. Thank you

Installing a transmission cooler in a JK is a fairly simple task. I'm not familiar with the RT Off-Road cooler, but it looks to be a quality cooler.

I couldn't find any specific instructions, but it's not that complicated. You'll need to pull the front grill off, and locate the "gozinta" and "gozouta" from the factory cooler located on the bottom of the radiator You want the "gozouta" line (the top line for a 42RLE transmission) - cooling the oil after the OEM cooler gets a crack at it.. Then is a matter of figuring out how the mounts are supposed to work and plumbing the lines into the right port on the factory cooler. Since the RT has hard lines, it shouldn't be too hard to screw things up - either they fit or they don't.

Look at a video or two of generic transmission cooler installs and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah I got the grille out etc. and did a test fit of the cooler. I tried locating the brackets but could find no logical mounts for them. With no instructions and no help from Extreme Terrain support I am leaning towards returning the kit and going with a different kit. I tried calling the manufacturer, RT off-road, and they just said to have it installed by a professional mechanic. I don't feel like paying a professional mechanic $185/hr or more to try and figure out how to install this kit.

for what it's worth, RT Offroad is just Crown Automotive's offroad division. I think anytime you are adding a component that your vehicle didn't come with from the factory you have to expect a bit of fabricating or modification to do so. It's not like all the mounts and things were there due to being an option on some of the models. I'd still think pretty straightforward to figure out considering how many people have added this over the years, but I have never looked into it myself. you might search up some videos for how Mishimoto does it with theirs.

On a side note, hate that retailer (ET).
