Question Lift kit vs. warranty?

How does adding a lift kit (thinking a 2" bolt on/spacer lift) effect the warranty?

Anyone looked into this?

I just asked the same question at my dealer on Friday. He said they work on lifted stuff all the time. He said at the worst they may not cover a coil because of the spacer but likely would anyway.

Caveat....a lot of dealers are idiots from what I have read on here. You kind of have to find a good one (ie Off road friendly) in your area. Call around. Here in Kingston there are two jeep dealers. One is good, the other, no.

My dealer installed my lift for me, the only thing not covered by them is the stuff they replaced.

I looked into this a lot. When i called them they told me that they will keep warrenty as long as the problem was not caused by the mod. I am looking to get a full kit and they said the driveline and everything is still covered as long as it isnt damaged by the lift itself. You should be fine with warrenty with a spacer kit.

From what I know and have been told a lot of dealers will go 3" and 35s and still honor the warranty. Of course it depends on location. Northern guys and people living in high elevation will find a lot more mod friendly dealers.

Dealerships are owned independently. Some times not all get the correct info from Chrysler. This is sometime due to their limited budgets in sending people out to learn about the vehicules they sell. Some dealers have actually on a corporate watchlists for various unfair business practices. Hence, they always threaten to void warranty. Chrysler is more the approriate avenue to follow. If the dealer gives you a hard time, then change the dealer. It's also funny how some threaten to void your warranty yet they are willing to install the lift.

I called the dealer where I bought the JK and the Service Manager does not care at all unless it is obvious the MOD part caused the OEM part to fail.

my dealership said they dont care up to 3" inches. parts replaced with the lift will not be covered. But my dealership is pretty cool as the service manager has a lifted XJ, and my salesman had a stock XJ he was planning on lifting.

My dealorship has been pretty cool as well. I just had my jeep in there due to what they say was my central computer not communicating properly it was preventing my efi to fire. 3 of them were and 3 of them were not. anyway they started cracking everything open and i was a little neurvous cuase i have the all gig. but they could tell it wasnt the cuase and they could see i had it in there but they didnt balk at it. to my amazement. fyi last weekend we had a lightning storm, my house got hit tv's, fridge and the pump went out. later that day i got in the jeep to run up to the store and u geussed it my jeep wouldnt start. everything else electronicly still worked that was what threw me.

Default Lift

I talked to my Dealer today. They said I would be fine with any puck lift.

Anything larger may void some suspension components but the lifetime power train would be OK.

They did say that they have had a couple of customers with the death wobble and the first thing that Chrysler wanted to know was if there was a lift on the vehicle. If there was a lift then the warranty labor was denied.
