I need a new lift!
O.K.,today was my bad day,I was pulling into my office parking lot this morning and heard a loud clunk from the front of my JK,And the steering went away,to my surprise the track bar mount completly tore off of the axle!I know from being around here that this is not uncommon, but it really sucks when it happens,I was lucky enough to have a shop at the location where it happened and could fix it myself,my question is why is this happening?I have the Full Traction 3" economy lift with their adjustable track bar and the track bar mount that bolts into the stock one.Any real help here would be appreciated!

ok, why do you have a track bar relocation bracket and an adjustable track bar? its one or the other..
what trackbar bracket did you put on?

are they stock spring? I read you installed coil spacers, too.
what all has been added to the fulltraction lift? which lift was really installed?

Here is the list, 3"Full Traction economy lift, with the adjustable track bar,I changed the front springs to 4" Pro Comp springs when I added the winch to compensate for the sag, and also added a 1 3/4 inch spacer because it still sat lower in the front. So now it has the 4" springs with a 1 3/4 spacer in the front and the original FT 3" springs in the rear and sits level.
ok, you might have needed that bracket to make everything line up, who added the track bar? the dealer or you after all the changes
but its no way a fulltraction lift anymore.
Its a hybrid, when you start mixing lift parts, it usually doesnt end well.

I started with the Full Traction Economy lift. Forget the front track bar bracket if you have an adj track bar. The bracket is only used to relocate the mounting hole so the stock track bar wont be too short after being raised 3". The problem with brackets on the axle is they provide extra leverage to an already inferior connection.
As far as the springs go, I will just be adding Full Traction HD springs when I get a winch. I happen to prefer a slight rake so I dont think I will be adding any spacers on top.
Down the road you may want to add upper and lower control arms. They will enable you to increase your castor on the front axle and in turn improve your ride and handling. Also, they will be a benefit in giving you more flex than the stock ones. You can mix and match these items if you want but for myself, I wanted to keep everything consistant so I added all Full Traction components as I upgraded gradually to the 3" Ultimate lift.
Hope that helps a little.
